Kindness as Practice

February often centers on love—usually directed outward. This month, we’re turning that attention inward through the yogic principle of Ahimsa, the practice of non-harming.
Sarah Blondin reminds us:
“The longest relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.”
Ahimsa begins with noticing what is alive in us right now—sensation, emotion, energy—and meeting it with kindness rather than force. On the mat, this may look like resting when needed, modifying without apology, or choosing ease over intensity.
Throughout February, classes will emphasize choice, nervous system care, and practices that support self-empathy. You may hear reminders like “less can be enough” or “kindness can guide this shape.”
When we practice non-harming toward ourselves, compassion naturally extends outward. This month, we invite you to explore self-love not as indulgence, but as a steady, intentional practice—one that quietly reshapes every relationship, beginning with the one you have with yourself.
